Goodlettsville community mourns 8-year-old boy who died in accidental shooting

An 8-year-old child in Goodlettsville has died following an accidental shooting Wednesday morning.
Police tell FOX 17 News first responders were called to the scene around 9:15 a.m. in the Long Hollow Place Subdivision.
"Once on the scene, it was determined that an 8-year-old child had suffered from what appeared to be an accidental gunshot wound," a spokesperson for the police department said.
The child, Brayden, later died at an area hospital.
Madison Creek Elementary Principal Jon Duncan posted the tragic news on Facebook, asking the community to pray for Brayden's family and for the school, as they mourn. Duncan described Brayden as "full of energy."
