Silchar (Assam):
A total of 98 air passengers had to flee a hospital to escape the mandatory COVID-19 test after landing at Silchar Airport in Assam’s Cachar district, a Health Department official said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday, after which 3 days later 385 air passengers caused chaos at the airport and a hospital and fled without testing.
The Assam government has made it mandatory for all air travelers arriving in the state to undergo a free rapid antigen test, after which the RT-PCR test goes for Rs 500, even if the RAT report comes back negative.
