Due to the pandemic, visitors entered homes in small groups and were escorted through the residence by one hostess. Below, hostess Susan Haley, at left, describes owner Gayle Merrill’s art studio for Garden Week visitors at Cherokee. The traditional Historic Garden Week house and garden tour in Gloucester and Mathews usually draws a crowd, but this year the event was capped at 320 tickets and split into morning and afternoon tour sessions.
