On the anniversary of the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, the Easton-Redding Region 9 school board debated an optional survey by the district’s diversity, equity and inclusion task force that they saw as a key measure to assess students’ needs and address gaps in the curriculum.
The task force has faced strong opposition from some community members in its attempts to issue the survey to determine needs and gaps in the curriculum.
