A longtime friend of mine recently got married. We were quite close friends during our freshman and sophomore years at university. We shared endless anecdotes of how we got through while studying abroad. I still vividly remember how we pulled together at a library to complete tough assignments until the crack of dawn and survived in classes. Just like me, she was a high-spirited girl with a lot of laughs. She was rather gullible and was not as brilliant as other genius students. But her passion for studies, which was the environment, clearly distinguished her from other pupils.
