A person who allegedly murdered a Christchurch man is also facing charges of robbery and strangulation 27 April 2021 A 28-year-old - who has interim name suppression - has appeared in Christchurch District Court, charged with murdering Kenneth Hawkins. The 50-year-old died in his Sydenham housing complex on Saturday from stab wounds. The accused is also facing charges of robbing two other men - strangling one - stealing cars, and giving police false information. He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in the High Court at Christchurch next month.
