Green: McLaren Vale, Australia Located a quick 45-minuete drive from the capital city of Adelaide, McLaren Vale is located on vine-covered coastline of Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. The acres of verdant vines are the perfect background for one of the world’s most environmentally sustainable wine regions which produces the largest quantity of biodynamic wines. Some of these green viticulture processes include GemTree’s commitments to use flocks of sheep to replace pesticides in weed management, ground quartz to prevent fungal infections, cow manure and recycled water as fertilizer, and a solar powered irrigation system. McLaren Vale is also home to the d’Arenberg wine cube (pictured).
