But it wasn't. "We saw it every once in awhile, but in November we regularly started noticing it every few days or so," Xavier said. It became clear the cow was not leaving on its own and the time had come to capture it. "My house is set way back in the woods and the only other house back here is my sister's," Xavier said. "My 21-month-old would look out the window for it and my sister's 3 1/2-year-old twins would also look for it." She said the kids, who named the cow Princess, got a kick out of looking for the large cow poops in their yards "which our husbands had to scoop up with snow shovels."
