Aashiq Jeevan Aale: Unemployed 24-year-old held for stealing cycles


Hailing from Nepal, ex-waiter stole wares worth ₹1.55L.
Hadapsar police on Friday arrested a man hailing from Nepal for stealing cycles. He used to work as a waiter, but when the eatery where he worked closed down, he took to stealing cycles and selling them for his survival.
The accused has been identified as
Aashiq Jeevan Aale, 24, a resident of Mundhwa. After losing his job, he took loans from his friends and relatives. To pay off the debt, he started stealing cycles. The police recovered 14 cycles from him.
The cycle of complainant Victor Denis Aruldasn, 25, was stolen from Manjari on July 19. He filed a complaint with Hadapsar police. The police checked the footage of the CCTV cameras in the area and a man was seen stealing the bicycle in the footage. The police received a tip-off that the accused worked as a waiter in a hotel. The police then arrested the accused and recovered the cycle from him.
