Abilene police arrest man at apartment complex for swinging machete A woman about to walk her dog at an apartment complex was in fear for her life when a man swinging a machete ran toward her, according to an Abilene police report. The woman in the 1700 block of South Third Street told police the incident began about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when she stepped outside the apartment. Fearing that the suspect would hit her or the dog, she ran back inside her residence and called police, the report said. Officers located the suspect, holding a machete, at the top of a stairwell. The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault-deadly weapon and taken to Taylor County Jail. His bond was set at $15,000.
