Abu Dhabi: Class duration reduced at public schools The schools also teach one lesson per week in Islamic Education and Social Studies. The duration of classes in Abu Dhabi public schools has been cut to 30 minutes. The school operations sector of the Emirates Institution for Institutional Education on Saturday sent circulars to schools and teachers informing them to reduce the class duration from 45 minutes to 30 minutes, while maintaining a five-minute rest between classes, and the inclusion of a 15-minute break during the school day. The circular, to be implemented immediately, covers all classes from Grade 1 to Grade 12. For kindergartens, the class duration will remain the same as it was specified in the study plan for that stage-30 minutes for each lesson.
