Out of the 564 active cases, 82 were tagged as new cases, the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) reported Sunday afternoon. The CESU also reported that 11,760 (93.00%) patients have recovered from COVID-19 with 126 tagged as new recoveries. The city’s downward trend in cases was first cited by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benjamin Abalos Jr. who lauded the city’s initiatives to combat and stop the spread of COVID-19 in its area. Abalos, citing figures from the City Health Office, said that the active cases started to drop from 987 on March 24 to 902 on March 27.
