FIRE crews rushed to a Southampton home this morning following reports of a fire. The crews from St Mary's Fire Station and Redbridge Fire Station arrived at the property in Shirley and were forced to enter the building via a ladder as the occupants were not at home. Once inside the home, it was revealed that the fire was caused by an advent calendar left on a hob. In a Tweet, Redbridge Fire Station said: "Green Watch mobilised early in the shift to a fire in Shirley with @StMarys54.
