By Thursday night, students called off their protests after the BHU administration issued a statement that following a discussion between the Varanasi commissioner and the Union education ministry on constructing a boundary wall for IIT, a joint committee of CPWD officials and IIT-BHU professors will be constituted and entrusted with the task of surveying the campus for the purpose. The committee will submit its report in a week's time, following which the commissioner will facilitate approval and funding from the government.
