(WVIR) - The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened Wednesday, Jan. 13 on the Route 250 Bypass near Locust Avenue at around 6 p.m. Police say it appears a Hyundai Elantra was traveling on the Route 250 Bypass eastbound when it crossed the median and collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma traveling westbound. The driver of the Hyundai Elantra, 49-year-old Anthony Douglas Cureton of Albemarle County, was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center where he passed away a short time later.
