Photo: WINA CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Charlottesville Police say a 49-year old Albemarle County man was the victim in Wednesday night’s fatal three-vehicle crash that closed the 250 bypass at Locust Avenue for nearly 4 hours. Police got the call shortly after 6pm. Investigators believe an eastbound Hyndai Elantra somehow crossed the median and collided head-on with a westbound Toyota Tacoma. A CPD release does not mention what the third vehicle was or how it became involved. The Hyundai driver — Albemarle resident Anthony Douglas Cureton — was transported to UVa where he died a short time later. The Tacoma driver was not hurt.
