The entirety of West Hartford Public Schools is going remote for the first time this school year starting next week, according to the superintendent of the townâs school system. Superintendent Tom Moore said in an interview this week that the district would implement distance learning through Wednesday because of considerations such as maintaining sufficient staff and being able to follow through with contact tracing. The change was first announced in a Dec. 11 message from Moore addressed to the community. That message mentioned âthe staffing issues that are created by the numbers we have in quarantine, which we know will increase in the coming daysâ as one of the factors weighing into the decision.
