Almost $60,0000 in fines for effluent discharges on Bay of Plenty farm

The prosecution was laid by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council in the Tauranga District Court for offending that occurred in December 2018.
Fines totalling almost $60,000 have been handed out over dairy effluent discharges from a farm in Bay of Plenty.
Kaimai Dairy Farm Limited and the farm manager, both pleaded guilty to discharging effluent onto land in a circumstance where it may enter water.
The farm is located in the Kaimai range at the corner of Hanga Road and State Highway 29.
