Alton schools heading back to five day a week classes Dylan Suttles, dylan.suttles@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail ALTON — The Alton School District, for the time being, is returning to some sense of normalcy. In a letter to students and parent on Thursday, Alton Superintendent Kristie Baumgartner announced that the school district will provide in-person instruction five days a week starting Monday, March 15, the start of district’s 4th quarter. “While we continue to monitor our regional and local COVID-19 metrics, the consistent and continued improvement of our community and school district health over the past month currently supports our plan to increase the number of days offered,” Baumgartner said.
