Amber McDaniel indicted on charges related to son's death The mother of 2-year-old murder victim Jason Wilder McDaniel was indicted Wednesday on charges connected to her son's death, according to court records. A Wichita County grand jury handed down a two-count indictment against Amber Nichole McDaniel for charges of endangering a child and tampering with evidence, according to court records filed Thursday. She was free Thursday from Wichita County Jail on $60,000 in total bonds, according to online jail records. Amber is accused of endangering Wilder by allowing him to be around James Irven Staley III, who is charged with the child's Oct. 11, 2018, murder, and allowing her then-boyfriend to babysit the child in spite of Staley's messages communicating hatred and violence toward Wilder, according to allegations in the indictment.
