Amherst Regional School Committee commits to full-time in-person learning this fall Updated Feb 19, 2021; AMHERST – The school committees, comprising the school district for pre-kindergarten through grade 12, all made a commitment to full-time, in-person learning, when the new academic year commences in late August or early September, during a joint meeting Tuesday. The three boards, Amherst-Pelham Regional, for grades 7-12, the Amherst, and the Pelham committees, for elementary school children, approved motions requiring this, unless public have matters related to COVID-19 intercede, forcing potential alterations to this plan. “Provided that the safety guidelines of local public health officials are fully adhered to: The Amherst Regional Public Schools will provide full-time in-person learning for the full 2021-2022 school year for all students. The Superintendent will manage this plan and any shift back to remote learning based on a continuous assessment of health conditions in direct consultation with local public health officials.”
