Amid 2nd COVID surge, Virginia foundation calls for donations to feed healthcare workers Kristen Powers/ABC7 Replay Video UP NEXT The Virginia Hospital Center is focusing on providing meals to the healthcare workers who are working directly with COVID-19 patients, in the ICU, Emergency Department, and in COVID-19 units. Hilary Phillips, the Executive Assistant to the President of the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation has been leading the charge in this effort. She said when COVID-19 first hit, many people were working to give meals to healthcare workers, but that has slowed down with the second virus surge. Phillips has been reaching out to previous donors and restaurants to help. So far, they have been supported by several businesses, communities, churches, and various organizations.
