Young and a team of other PAUW board members gathered at the store location last week for a photo to mark the collection of funds. The United Family raised $500,000 this year for United Way chapters across the areas the store chain serves, including Plainview, according to a news release from United. The grocery chain gives to these organizations every year with money raised through the annual Jacky Pierce Charity Classic, which was cancelled this year as a result of COVID-19.
