Tipperary Mid West Radio Pat Flanagan talks with the mother of Oisín Williams On St. Patrick’s Day this year, a Tipperary community was shocked to hear of the sudden passing of a much loved son, brother, community member and friend. Oisín Williams, from Deerpark, Cloughjordan died by suicide on 17th March 2021, and his death has left an open wound on the hearts of his family, friends, North Tipperary community and his beloved comrades at Kilruane McDonaghs GAA Club. In a very poignant and important interview, Tipp Mid-West Radio’s Pat Flanagan spoke to Oisíns mother, Liz Williams – a regular GAA correspondent on TMWR, to discuss Oisín’s life, his love of GAA and sport, as well as highlighting the greater issue of mental health in both sport, and among Ireland’s young people. This interview also deals with the problem of suicide among the youth in Ireland, and in sport in our community.
