Photography by Ashley Gendek 1/23 Source: Ansham Associates The £167,000 project by the Kent-based practice is located in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Ansham Associates have added a 148m² extension to an existing clapboarded house for its interior designer client. Advertisement The existing timber-framed house, which is painted white with green shuttered windows, was originally built in the late 19th century for the managing officers of a nearby brickworks. The extension's massing is informed by the scale, height and proportions of the existing but contrasts the ‘hand-crafted’ style with a façade that is more ‘assembled’.
