Afonso and Carol repeated the triumphs achieved last year at this same stage, starting the season at the front of their respective national rankings. The final day of the Allianz Ericeira Pro started with a super heat between Vasco Ribeiro and Tomás Fernandes in the quarter-finals, with the four-time national champion beating the experienced local surfer. In the following heat Guilherme Ribeiro beat Francisco Almeida, in a duel between the surfers from Costa de Caparica, and guaranteed the first semi-finals of his career. The quarter-finals were completed with the triumphs of Afonso Antunes against Arran Strong and also of Pedro Coelho against the national top 4 surfer Luís Perloiro.
