Anuradhapura farmers benefit from Japanese technology Daily News (via HT Media Ltd.) The Japan–Sri Lanka Friendship Farm in the Kekirawa DS Division is working hard to make the government’s organic fertilizer promotion drive successful. The 100-acre farming complex is managed by ‘Made in Sri Lanka – Nippon Holdings’ working in collaboration with an agriculture centre in Ibaraki Ken Province in Japan, which is well-known for its scientifically advanced agricultural development activities. At this institute, the youth are given an opportunity to work on agricultural development projects implemented with advanced agro-technology. As the initial step of this carbonic fertilizer promotion venture, 100 farmers selected from Kekirawa, Galenbindunuwewa, Rajangane and Nuwaragam Palatha (Central) DS divisions were offered 10 free litres of quality liquid carbonic fertilizer, each sufficient for one acre. Anuradhapura Government Agent R.M. Wanninayake was the chief guest on the occasion.
