Apple Find My network now supports third-party devices
Apple’s Find My network is a system that helps Apple users locate their devices if they get misplaced or stolen. The system was previously only designed for Apple devices, but Apple released a new update to the Find My app today that allows third-party devices to also use the network via the Find My network accessory program.
The Find My network accessory program will be a part of the Made for iPhone (MFi) Program, and will help third party accessory developers design and make devices that can use the finding capabilities of Apple’s Find My network. These accessories will be required to gain an approval from Apple and will also feature a “Works with Apple Find My” badge to let users know.
