After a slow start to the year when it comes to precipitation, the Twin Lakes Area is now well ahead of average thanks to a big total in April. At the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot studios, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service, 9.05 inches of rain was recorded in April which makes it the 8th wettest in Mountain Home history. Normal rainfall for April is 4.13 inches, meaning April was 4.92 inches above normal. For the year-to-date, Mountain Home has seen 20.91 inches of rain. The average rainfall for the first four months is 14.35 inches, meaning the area is 6.56 inches above normal. In comparison, last year through the end of April, 25.03 inches of rain had fallen, just over four inches more than this year.
