They may seem like a new idea, in response to recent societal events. But protest gatherings have been going on for eons, probably almost back to a time when just enough humans lived together on Earth to gather in groups to express dissatisfaction or disagreement about an issue. History is riddled with accounts of protests, some peaceful, some not so much. Some have had good results, others more tragic endings. And regardless of oneâs position on protests, the reality is that many societal changes have come about as results of protests. Of course, they werenât always so well-known or so well-publicized as today, when nearly every participant and bystander clutches a video, sound-equipped and internet-connected device with which to instantly share the event ... literally around the world.
