Workers have been putting the finishing touches on the Jasper County Cowboy Church Rodeo Arena as the church prepares to host their first Jasper Pro Rodeo on Friday, May 14th and Saturday, May 15th. A metal roof is being installed over new metal bleachers at the arena and officials say the arena will hold approximately 1,500 rodeo fans. One of the organizers of the event Marvin McDonald said Wednesday that over 1,100 pre-sale ticket had already been sold. McDonald said tickets can be bought online and also at the Cowboy Church along with Boot Barn and other businesses. Meanwhile, the Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the return of the Rodeo Parade. It will take place on Friday, May 14th beginning at 5:30 p.m. and taking the traditional parade route through downtown Jasper.
