As PU colleges get set to reopen, students look at a ‘new normal’ BySridhar VivanSridhar Vivan / Updated: Dec 28, 2020, 06:00 IST colleges are now planning to have twin sessions to control the crowds. For example, Yelahanka PU College, which has one of the highest numbers of students studying in the campus, has decided to conduct separate sessions in the mornings and afternoons. Palaksha T, principal of Yelahanka PU College said, "We have around 1,300 students studying in our campus and it will be difficult to manage a crowd of that size. So, we have decided to conduct arts and science classes from 9 am to 12 pm, while commerce classes will be held between 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm. As we are expecting around 30 per cent of students to turn up initially, we can accommodate two students per bench. We will also be putting up dividers on the pathway so that there are no crowds at the entrance. While one pathway will be used by incoming students, the other will be utilised by outgoing students during the afternoon break."
