武生工・武生商工工のエース橋本龍希君（同）は変化球が主体だ。橋本君が投げた1回戦を見た森岡君は「6、7割はスライダー。カウントを取りにくる球を打つ」と狙いを定めていた。それもはまり、この試合3打数3安打3打点と大活躍を見せた。
互いに勝ち上がり、この準々決勝で戦おうと誓っていた。辞退を知った後、電話で話した。宮崎君から「頑張れ」と言われたという。「つらいはずなのに落ち込んだ感じも見せなかった。あいつらのためにも勝ちたかった」
金津は夏、初めての4強。この先も強い相手ばかりだ。森岡君は「思い切ってチーム全体で戦って、勝つ」と先を見据えた。（柳川迅）
