A A Liberal MP and former parliamentary joint committee on corporations and financial services member Jason Falinski had recently asked a series of questions on notice to ASIC around its processes for ensuring correct information was communicated to the public about its enforcement actions. “The responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of details of individuals named in media releases, such as the person’s profession, lies with the case officer and senior manager who are most familiar with the matter,” ASIC said in response to Mr Falinski’s questions.
