Burkeville Fire Chief Charles Duckworth says assistance has been requested from the Red Cross and Salvation Army for a couple who lost everything in an early Tuesday afternoon house fire. Duckworth said it happened at the Laura Brittan & Henry Trammell residence, located at 677 Private Road 6039, about 5 miles southeast of Burkeville. Both the Burkeville and Newton Fire Departments responded and the first firefighters on the scene reported that the singlewide mobile home was already fully engulfed upon their arrival. Thereâs no word on a possible cause of the blaze, and fortunately there were no injuries.
