Posted By: George Lawson July 25, 2021 @ 5:57 pm Local News, News Sedgwick County Emergency Communications officials said maintenance work by AT&T on a statewide system affected incoming calls to 911 in Sedgwick and Shawnee counties Saturday night. The two counties were originally told that their operations would not be affected due to redundant circuits serving both 911 centers. Emergency Communications personnel conducted a test and found that people were getting recordings when they called 911 and they were not getting through. Staff logged into a back-up system and they were able to take inbound calls. It’s not known how long the problem was going on.
