Phillips photo Atchison County ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged disturbance and have made an arrest. Just after 5:30p.m. May 8, officers investigated an incident that occurred in a residence in the 1000 block North 2nd Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson. A group of young men were together in the residence when a disturbance began between two of the men. A 19- year-old man was choked and struck in the face with a fist, according to Wilson. A private vehicle transported the victim the hospital where he was treated for injuries and released. Police arrested 19-year-old Jackson Phillips of Atchison on requested charges of aggravated battery. He is no longer in custody at the Atchison County Jail, according to online records.
