ATHOL – Health Agent Deb Vondal said Wednesday that Athol has seen a substantial spike in COVID cases in recent days and, as a result, Town Manager Shaun Suhoski has joined her in urging residents to strictly follow the guidelines recommended to stem the spread of the virus.
“Because it hasn’t slowed down,” said Vondal. “We are at 87 active cases right now.”
A quick check of her records indicated this is the second-highest number on record for Athol, with 88 cases reported on one other day.
