Atrocities case | Maharashtra government extends protection from arrest to Param Bir Singh till June 22

A Division Bench of the Bombay High Court was hearing a petition filed by former Mumbai Police Commissioner seeking to quash an FIR filed against him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act
The Maharashtra government told the Bombay High Court on Monday that it would not arrest former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh till June 22 in the case registered against him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Senior counsel Darius Khambata, appearing for Maharashtra government, told a Division Bench of P.B. Varale and S.P. Tavade that Mr. Singh’s protection from arrest would be extended till June 22.
