The African Union’sEconomic, Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC) held its Second Ordinary Session of the third Permanent General Assembly (GA) recently. The GA is the highest decision-making body within ECOSOCC and is required to meet inOrdinary Session once every two years and may meet in Extra-Ordinary Sessions underconditions specified in the rules of procedure of the Organ. The last Ordinary Session of the GA was held in December 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya, where itelected members of the Bureau of the GA for a two-year term of office. The GA was reconvened in an Extra-Ordinary session in June 2019 and elected Chairpersons of the ten (10) Sectorial Cluster Committees for a two-year term of office constituting the Standing Committee (SC).
