Authorities seek hit-and-run driver who killed pedestrian in Hesperia Victorville Daily Press Authorities are looking for the driver of a vehicle who hit and killed a 57-year-old man Wednesday night in Hesperia before fleeing the scene. Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff's station responded at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday to the scene of the collision on Locust Avenue, north of Mauna Loa. There, the deputies determined that an unknown vehicle hit a pedestrian — later identified as the 57-year-old man — in the roadway. The driver fled immediately after the collision, sheriff’s officials said. The victim suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
