April 21, 2021 OTTAWA – A 21-year-old Ottawa woman died from multiple stab wounds on Monday according to the LaSalle County Coroner. During a press conference on Wednesday, authorities identified the victim as Grace N. Taylor. The suspect in the homicide, 29-year-old Michael Steven Swift of Mokena, was taken into custody that same day during an investigation in conjunction with the Ottawa Police and Mokena Police. LaSalle County State’s Attorney Todd Martin said that police were first notified of the incident in the 300 block of West McKinley Road in Ottawa by a phone call from a family member related to Swift. Swift is facing three counts of homicide and is being held on $3 million bond.
