Two people have been charged after police fielded multiple calls about a fight on New Plymouth’s main street, which saw an axe and a shovel wielded during the violent clash. Eleven calls were made to 111 in a period of three minutes just before 12pm on Wednesday, with some onlookers taking video footage of the melee, which had since been handed over to police. There were no reports of anyone being injured in the brawl.
