By Carol Thomson Jun 28, 2021 | 2:49 PM A news release from Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools says the next year’s operating budget is more predictable, but long-term stability is in question. Board trustees unanimously passed the balanced operating and capital budget for the 2021-22 year of $208.67-million. Chair of the Board of Education, Diane Boyko, says funding for pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 education in Saskatchewan is increasing, but it’s not keeping up with inflation on the expense side. She notes that it’s challenging for school divisions when only some increases are recognized and others are not. The news release suggests the negotiated teacher salary increases are covered, but not negotiated increases in other job categories.
