WATERBURY â Naugatuck Valley Community College, in collaboration with the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, is offering a new Basic Manufacturing Certificate course, a strong credential for local manufacturing jobs. Students may qualify for tuition-free enrollment, which runs 170 hours from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, September 8 though December 20. Theâ¯curriculum includes Manufacturing Math, Blueprint Reading, Metrology, OSHA 10, Bench Work and Machine Technology. This course may be taken by students who are interested in starting a career in manufacturing as well as workers who are looking to build their skills to a higher level.
