The preparation for holding elections in Bastar division begins at least eight weeks in advance. This time, 700 companies of CAPF have been brought in from outside the state. The exercise begins with area domination and road opening by security forces. This means the area within 5-km radius of a polling station is sanitised and security forces posted for elections.
