Kincardine, ON, Canada / ShorelineToday.ca Jun 9, 2021 | 6:23 AM Reaction to the news of changes to the Blue Box program in Ontario is positive for one local organization. Minister of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks Jeff Yurek announced last week that the program is expanding to far north communities by 2026, and it will be accepting more items in bins. General Manager of Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling Vince Cassone says by expanding the program, he believes it will get more people to recycle and divert items from landfills.
Cassone says they currently have to sort out items like paper and plastic and it would be great if they would no longer have to do that.
