Hudson Reporter Bayonne man arrested for subletting apartment he didn’t own A Bayonne woman was arrested for fraudulently trying obtain rental assistance × A Bayonne man was arrested and charged with theft by deception for subletting an apartment he didn’t own, according to the Bayonne Police Department. Fils Kendamos, 41, was taken into custody on April 23 at 7:39 a.m. from his residence on West 19th Street after being identified as the actor of two counts of Theft by Deception reported on Feb. 10. On that date, the two victims reported that they each paid Kendamos over $1,000 at different times to enter into a lease on an apartment Kendamos had advertised that he was subletting. When they attempted to call Kendamos to schedule a move-in date, they realized the number was to the landlord who had no knowledge of the subletting. Attempts to contact Kendamos were unsuccessful.
