The Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is set to make a speech at the Italian Parliament later today and could face a vote of no confidence. This all comes at a time when europes fourth biggest economy continues to struggle. Italy currently has a massive 2. 3 trillion worth of public debt, which is equivalent to 133 of its overall gdp. Italian banks are most exposed to any default, but french, german and british banks are also at risk. The Italian Economy is still recovering from a recession last year. It grew marginally at the beginning of the year but since then growth has been stagnant. Despite this the Italian Government is forecasting growth of 0. 2 for the year, which is above estimates from the European Commission and imf. A major problem is the countrys stubbornly high Unemployment Rate of around io . But it is italys massive youth Unemployment Rate which is causing nightmares it currently stands at a huge 28. I . With me is christel aranda hassel, chief european economist at mizuho international. Thank you for being with us. How precarious a position is this for italy, and for europe . You just heard that italian growth is very much stagnant at the moment. It is very tricky. But the fact is the politicians have not yet endorsed Structural Reforms. This is the very big italian problem. Nobody embracing Structural Reforms that need to be done to get this country up need to be done to get this country up and going. That has been an issue with italy for generations now. Now you have two populist parties in government. Give us some insight into what is going through the minds of voters as we look into a potential general election in italy, particularly those young voters who feel so disenfranchised in the economy. There is a sense of fatigue. Everybody has been forever promising that they will repair italy. Now it is the popular sand yet again nothing much has happened. The populists have been in government and so far we havent really seen all that much. And you have this north south divide, and that needs to be addressed with reforms. You compare this with the greek crisis and everybody felt greece leaving the eu was unthinkable, then brexit happened. But in italy this time, is this idea that italy unleashes itself from the eu, is it gaining any traction there, at all . Ithink italy eu, is it gaining any traction there, at all . I think italy will be much more similar to greece. Populists will do a lot of talking but ultimately they will to a certain extent comply. But the one thing that plays into italys hands at the moment is the fact that Global Growth is weak everywhere and europe does give you leeway if there is recession, in terms of using fiscal priming. Could we be talking about an italian rescue at some point in the future . Dont forget that most of the italian debt is in the hands of italians, therefore it is them shooting themselves into the foot if they were to do an exit. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts today. Lets take a look at some of the other stories making the news. A spokesman for the social Media Company said they also said they found as many as 200,000 other accou nts found as many as 200,000 other accounts that work proactively suspended before going live, and they were designed to spread misinformation. Facebook said they got a tip and what they did in response was to remove a smaller number, and also five facebook accounts. The head of Cyber Security at twitter said that even though the people behind the activity tried to hide their identities and investigation revealed they were associated with the chinese government. This is reminiscent of the russian interference in the 2016 us president ial election. Twitter has been open and has shared a list of these accounts and the tweets that they removed and this comes after the company was intensely criticised over the weekend for allowing Chinese News Agency to buy sponsored posts on the network. Yesterday twitter said it would no longer allow such ads. However it added its new policy did not only apply to taxpayer funded entities and that includes independent public broadcasters. Asian shares rose on tuesday as sentiment was boosted by hopes that Central Banks and governments around the world will provide more stimulus for major economies. That has tempered anxiety about aglobal recession. And its boosted riskier assets and drawn money from safe havens such as bonds and gold. The improved mood was helped by a rally on wall street overnight. The immediate focus shifts to the minutes of the us federal reserves last meeting due on wednesday. Traders are also keenly waiting on the get together of americas central bankers injackson hole, wyoming, and a g7 summit this weekend for clues on what additional steps policymakers will take to bolster growth. And Michelle Fleury has the details of whats ahead on wall street today. Right now American Consumers are holding up the us economy but the question is, how long will that last . Earnings reports from major retailers this week should provide evidence on how Consumer Spending is going, starting with home depots numbers which are out this tuesday. The Worlds Largest Home Improvement retailer is expected to show an increase in revenue from one year ago when it posted its Second Quarter results. Investors will be watching to see if the mid Market Department store chain, coles can ove rco m e Department Store chain, coles can overcome the challenge of getting people through its doors when it releases Second Quarter results. The Philadelphia Federal Reserve bank put out its Non Manufacturing survey for august and last month showed an increase in activity. Joining us is Trevor Greetham from head of multi asset at Royal London Asset management. And what, trevor, marcus thinking about the likelihood of a session at this stage . Markets have been volatile, share prices have dropped a lot in the last month. The movements in the bond market, the sort of things you normally see maybe 2a months ahead of a recession, so there is some concern about Global Growth, particularly on the trade side. We are also starting to see stimulus come through. So Interest Rates cuts in america. And even talk overnight leap from the white house about tax cuts, which seems a bit strange when you are ten months into economic expansion and you have a big budget deficit but there is focus on getting things moving again. One thing will be scouring for clues is when we get this speech at the big get together of the american central bankers in jackson hole. They will be looking for clues about what form any future stimulus might take. The most important thing is there seems to be a change in attitude in america about Interest Rates, where they are talking about being more liberal with their inflation target. They have been below the information target for a while, it is ok to be above it for a while, which suggests rates will come down and the markets are pricing in a rate cut of 0. 5 next month, which is a big rate cut. The markets will be watching closely to see if they are getting of that signal. Lots of economic threats on the horizon, no deal brexit, and the us the horizon, no deal brexit, and the us china trade war and we have been talking about italy. What do you read into that as a threat of spill over across the rest of the eu . Depending on how things go today there may be another election. It could be in october. It could be later. It is a bit difficult to judge entirely. This instability. Because the five Star Movement is not necessarily very market friendly, shall we say, the new government that does not include there may not be seen as a bad thing by the markets. Thank you, well be seeing you at later with a review of the papers. You have ten minutes to go and order your click and collect we wa nt go and order your click and collect we want to hear about your experiences of click and collect, if you could hashtag your comments as bbcbizlive. Stay with us, you are watching business live. Youre watching business live. Our top story a crucial day for italys Prime Minister, who will address Parliament Later today and could face a vote of no confidence. Now lets talk about plastic. Its everywhere and can be useful and convenient, but its also a massive pollution problem, especially in our oceans. Over the years theres been a worldwide efforts to get rid of the material in every corner of our lives. Well now, the fight against plastics has moved to the kitchen. And its proving to be a tough challenge, especially when it comes to find alternatives to our plastic wrapping that keeps our food fresh. For some, the answer is to soak fabric in a beeswax mixture which allows the fabric to remain flexible and tacky enough to cling to dishes. Our next guest fran beer started making her own beeswax wraps in 2017 with her Business Partner carly catalano. Now their firm, the Beeswax Wrap Company, is one of the biggest manufacturer of beeswax wrapping in europe. Fran beer, co founder of the Beeswax Wrap Company is here. How does it compare with the plastic film that many of us use . What is it like using this beeswax compared to the Old Fashioned clingfilm . You get angry and frustrated using clingfilm, but with the beeswax rap it is simple. You use the heat of your hand to see that round. Have a play. You would say it is better, wouldnt you . M keeps your food naturally fresh because it is made of completely natural materials. You are getting a fresh sheet every time and cross contamination if you have wrap raw meat pinch macro what are the hygiene issues . You wash it with cold water and washing up liquid between each use and depending how regularly you use them you pup them backin regularly you use them you pup them back in the oven to repress them so that repast arises the wax. And beeswax and jojoba have Antibacterial Properties so keep your food a lot pressure. How does it compare cost wise . The packs start from £10 and you get two wraps, right up to £30 for a big kitchen pack. The raps last up to a year. I have got wraps that i made two years ago that im still using so you get a lot of bang for your back with these beeswax wrap so they are definitely worth it. My background is in advertising. Carly was a substitute music teacher but we both had a passion for crafting and we made lots of stuff people didnt want to buy but one of the key things we wanted to make was beeswax wraps because we wanted to reduce our plastic, and clingfilm was the one thing we couldnt replace, there was nothing out there apart from a tea towel or a plate, so we gave it a go. The world is changing when it comes to the use of plastics, and changing fast, with the disappearance of Plastic Straws and the like, and you will have looked into this closely. What will the future look like in 5 10 years time, and how different will it be from how we use the stuff today . Talk about what itll look like, and it will be more like the past. Plastic hasnt been around that long. We survived a long time without it. This is an ancient art. This is something the egyptians did. We are going to see a revival like this. So much of the convenience culture is based on it, just thinking about things like packets of vegetables, that we just grab at the supermarket, covered in clingfilm, a plastic punnet, how do you ever combat . There is Great Technology using seaweed as replacement plastic. There are some Amazing Things being done. In the next couple of years we will see things from the Natural World being harnessed to replace plastic. Where did the idea come from . Carly was living in australia and she saw them, six or seven years a
