Who is at the england defender Millie Brights former football club. Emily, what are Excitement Levels like where you are . There has been lots of excitement here this morning. This is of course where Millie Bright started her Football Career when she was just nine years old at Killer Marsh Dynamos and it was here on these very pitches behind me where she was scouted by sheffield united. Of course she now plays for chelsea and has been captain of the england lionesses in the world cup. But people here have been telling me she hasnt forgotten her roots and has been back to visit many times and speak to her old coaches, and in fact one of them joins me now. This is andy poulsen who knows Millie Bright and you remember the first day she started here, dont you . Yes, she was only a tiny little dot, but she was full of running and then when she started playing for me she played up front scoring 80 odd goals in the one season she was with me. There we go, lots of excitement here today and lots of support for Millie Bright, former player here at killamarsh dynamos, they are hoping for something a little bit better than 0 0 but we still have the second half of the match to come. We are into the second half and like you said the scoreline is still 0 0 but thank you very much indeed. Thank you. 0rganisers at the world Scout Jamboree thank you. 0rganisers at the world scoutjamboree in south korea have confirmed the jamboree will end early due to a typhoon warning. It comes after the uk association relocated a,500 members to hotels over Safety Concerns at the campsite. 0ur seoul correspondent, Jean Mackenzie has been speaking to the Chief Executive of uk scouts, matt hyde. We are both disappointed and feel let down by the organisers, because we repeatedly raised some of these concerns before we went during when we went, we were promised things were going to be put in place and they werent. If you can imagine toilets that are being used by thousands and thousands of people that are not being cleaned with the regularity youd expect, you can imagine the sort of things that people were seeing. It wasnt just that. It was actually the lack of soap as well. So again, its the compounding impact of all these things together. But like all of these things, when youre put in a position where you have to make difficult decisions, there are choices. We have at this point had to make the difficult choice of investing our money to ensure that young people are safe. That is the right thing to do. And the board took that decision and stand by it 100 unanimously. What sort of sum are we talking about here . Well, were assessing that at the moment. But you can probably imagine youre dealing with, as i say, a,500 people plus, times number of rooms, travel, food. We must be talking Hundreds Of Thousands of pounds . Yes, many. Now to kenya. A bbc investigation into the care of the elderly in kenya has uncovered the mistreatment and neglect of vulnerable residents at a care home near the countrys capital nairobi. Kenyans, like many others across the african continent, are increasingly seeking outside support for their . Ageing relatives. But, even with kenyan government standards and guidelines governing care homes, there is a growing fear that in some cases the last thing elderly people do receive is care. Njeri mwangi reports. In the next 30 years, the african Elderly Population is projected to triple from 75 million to 235 million. Its growth will be faster than in any other region in the world. But what kind of care are our elderly actually receiving . Bbc africa eye began to hear worrying stories about mistreatment at one care home near nairobi, the thogoto care home for the aged. Local media filmed here in 2020. The manager, jane gaturu, presented an image of a safe haven. Every old person is your. Is your granny. This facility, which is home to around 50 residents, was set up by the womens guild of the local branch of the Presbyterian Church of east africa, but is managed independently. During our investigation, staff admitted to abuse at the home. Translation we beat him and thats what calms him down. Here is what happened to one resident who was found wandering outside the perimeter fence. Translation hit her on the buttocks. I 0ur investigators found more evidence of neglect, with some residents forced to eat off the table with no support from carers. Translation if you dont get someone to feed you and with you shaking, will you sleep hungry . I translation if i dont get some help, i will sleep hungry. What can i do . 0ne staff member alleges a lack of support at meal times has had deadly consequences. Translation many have died of hunger here they deny them lunch and dinner or because they dont make time to come and feed them. We also found evidence of medical conditions being left untreated. This elderly man, who we are calling mwangi, is suffering with a skin problem. Translation im feeling pain too much, too much. Im feeling like im burning. But despite his condition, mwangi says he is not getting the care he needs. And after weeks without treatment, he tells our reporter he is still in pain. Translation it is so painful, | especially when i bend like this. Translation you really need to go to hospital. I when you talk to jane about it, what does she say . She keeps promising that there are people coming, but they never come. We put the allegations to the manager of the home, jane gaturu, who told us that the home always observes the rule of law and does not condone any form of brutality towards residents. She said those who struggle to eat are given priority assistance, and any allegations that medical condition is not provided are lies and malice. We also showed some of our undercover recordings to the kenyan governments Principal Secretary responsible for social protection. We are going to do spot checks on various private homes and see as to whether they meet the standards that they should be having. Over a month after we first spoke to him, mwangi, the man with the skin condition, did get treated in hospital with help from his family. Translation look at my skin. Its better some of the stories we had were shocking. And whilst good Care Facilities do exist in kenya, are there many other elderly people suffering silently in homes where there is neither care nor love . Njeri mwangi, bbc news, nairobi. You can find the full film betrayed elderly care exposed on the bbc Africa Youtube channel. It is an exclusive bbc africa eye documentary. Around the world and across the uk this is bbc news.
